Our Current Stable of Mares

Over the past decade, we have bred dozens of Stonewall Sporthorses at our Rush Ranch headquarters on Grizzly Island Road, near Fairfield/Suisun. Over time, we have “skimmed the cream” until our current stable contains the most stellar representatives of this striking breed we have developed over the past fifty years.

The horses we have selected to carry on our breeding program while working for Access Adventure are the three full sisters pictured above; Calypso, Samba and Minuet. We have also retained their lovely young half-sister Montelena. In addition, we sold two homebreds purchased by Access Adventure volunteers John and Nancy Hengel and their daughter Blake. Stonewall Mystique completed the Caravan, a transcontinental horse drawn journey with Access Adventure founder Michael Muir. She is well-started riding and driving. We have leased her back to work and raise a foal or two for us. Blake selected the dazzling Stonewall Tango to train toward her Olympic aspirations in 2024.

Our other mares have 2018 foals by the World Champion Friesian stallion Monte 378 Sport. These are three-quarter siblings to Montelena, as well as three-quarter Friesian, carrying the finest European bloodlines available today.

The historic Rush Ranch, owned by the Solano Land Trust, is open every day of the year. We invite your visit to meet our beautiful horses and learn more about them, as well as Access Adventure, the program they support.

We are now breeding just a small number of very select foals. You may purchase one of our current foals, one in utero; live, healthy foal guaranteed, or ask to be wait-listed to select your own next year.
