Stonewall Minuet is the fifth consecutive foal from the Apollo* x Stonewall Fantasia cross. She is the third of three full sisters we have kept to breed, perform and work for Access Adventure. Although most people consider Calypso, Samba and Minuet three peas in a pod and hard to tell apart, Michael considers Minuet to be the closest to his ideal standard for a Stonewall Sporthorse mare. She is the tallest of the three, the most elegantly made, and the most expressive mover of all the foals we have bred in recent years. Minuet has a 2018 foal by the service of *Monte 378 (Sport) (The Netherlands).

Minuet descends from a very deep tail-female line of Stonewall Sporthorse mares originating with the 1967 National Champion Crystal Curtain. Stonewall Stud owned two of her daughters, the 1981 mare Stonewall Crystal and her 1983 full sister, Stonewall Blizzard.

Stonewall Crystal made her mark as the dam of three Stonewall Sporthorse Champion mares; Stonewall Blanche, Stonewall Stella and Stonewall Scarlett. These three sisters led the epic 2001 Horsedrawn Journey Across America. Scarlett is the dam of Stonewall Fantasia, the most influential Stonewall Sporthorse producer in recent times. Scarlett is the daughter of the stallion Stonewall Rebel, carrying the bloodlines of the foundation sire Charlie Degas and our World Champion racehorse and sire Apache Double. Stonewall Minuet represents more than fifty years of history in the Stonewall Studbook.

This is the twilight of Michael Muir’s long career as a breeder of champion horses. Minuet is poised to open a new chapter in the Stonewall Studbook. Following the birth of her 2018 foal, Minuet will return to training in ridden dressage and carriage driving. We expect her to add further luster to our most accomplished family of Stonewall Sporthorses.
